Biography

Lauren's childhood was filled with everything from crocheting scarves to constructing monthly inspiration boards. She viewed spending hours in the fabric store and creating clothing as a hobby. It was over these past few years that her favorite pastime had developed into the foundation of Lauren's future education. This is what lead her to achieve a bachelor's degree in Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising from Eastern Michigan University.

During her senior year at Eastern Michigan University, she took a course called Fashion Brand Management. In which she created a merchandising plan for Target. Through this project, Lauren created floor plans and visual displays for the women’s, home, and men’s department with the use of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

In addition to her academics, Lauren gained experience within visual merchandising, sales, and distribution through her past job opportunities. For the past three and a half years she has worked as a florist at Kroger Co. Within this time she became well versed in color trends and trend forecasting.

This experience prepared her for her next position, a sales and management intern at Sherwin Williams. Lauren and her fellow interns developed a plan to boost the usage of the new e-commerce application among customers. Through this assignment, she utilized her knowledge of Adobe software to create digital advertisements. The experience gained through this internship had led her to her next job opportunity at Allianz Life.

During the summer of 2019, Lauren worked alongside the Distribution Relationship Management team where she learned about the role of relationship managers and how this team influences sales within the company. Throughout the internship, she became well versed in how to operate the Salesforce software. This knowledge allowed her to update account profiles which led to an increase in productivity within the sales team.

Throughout her education and work experiences, Lauren found an interest in pursuing a professional career in communications. In the near future, she looks forward to developing more skills focused on digital marketing and fashion design.

Upon graduation, Lauren found herself wanting to continue her education in the fashion and communication fields. In the fall of 2019, she began the Global Communications (Fashion Track) master's program at the American University of Paris.
